You create a travel profile describing your style, budget, interests, and personality. Our GNN (Graph Neural Network) algorithm then matches you with compatible travelers for specific trips or as ongoing travel partners. You can form squads, plan itineraries together, split costs, book verified local experiences, and build your traveler identity — all in one platform.

Khojo is built specifically for Indian travelers, with a focus on responsible and community-led exploration. It's currently in waitlist phase — join the waitlist to be among the first users when we launch.

Khojo is free to join and use. The core platform — squad matching, trip planning, social feed, and community features — will always be free for travelers.

We're currently in pre-launch waitlist phase. To join, visit our waitlist page and enter your email. Over 2,744 travelers from across India are already on the list. Waitlist members get early access when we launch and priority squad matching in the first weeks.

Some premium experiences and advanced features may have optional paid tiers in the future, but the social and planning core will remain free.

Khojo Squads are AI-matched groups of 3–8 travelers who share compatible travel styles, budgets, interests, and personalities. Unlike random travel groups, our squads are formed through a multi-dimensional matching process powered by a Graph Neural Network (GNN) that analyzes 40+ compatibility signals including:

— Travel pace (slow exploration vs. fast itinerary) · Budget range · Activity preferences (adventure, culture, food, photography) · Communication style · Personality type · Past travel behavior · Destination wishlist

To form or join a squad, you complete your travel profile and specify your next trip — dates, destination, and preferences. Khojo's algorithm suggests compatible travelers. You can browse profiles, send match requests, and build your squad before planning begins. Squads also have built-in tools for collaborative itinerary planning, real-time group chat, and cost splitting.

Once your squad is formed, Khojo's collaborative trip planning tools make organizing the trip straightforward. The squad coordinator creates a Trip Board — a shared workspace where everyone proposes destinations, votes on activities, and builds a day-by-day itinerary.

The AI assistant suggests activities, routes, and local experiences based on what your squad collectively enjoys. Cost splitting is automatic — add a shared expense and each member's contribution is calculated and tracked in real time. You can assign roles (coordinator, navigator, food-finder) to keep things organized.

Before departure, the Trip Board generates a downloadable itinerary with all bookings, contacts, and emergency information consolidated in one place.

Safety is a core design principle at Khojo, and we take this especially seriously for solo women travelers. All users go through identity verification before they can participate in squad matching. Traveler profiles include real photos, verified travel history, and community trust scores built from past interactions.

Before committing to a squad, you can review detailed profiles, read community feedback, and connect gradually — there's no pressure to share personal contact information until you're comfortable. Our in-app messaging keeps all communication traceable. Squads also have an emergency escalation feature — if you feel unsafe during a trip, you can flag it immediately.

We have a zero-tolerance policy for harassment or misconduct, and reports are reviewed by a real person within 2 hours.

Data privacy is foundational to how Khojo is built. We collect only the data necessary to improve your travel experience and matches. We do not sell your personal data to third parties, ever.

Your travel history, preferences, and conversations are used only to improve your matches and recommendations within the platform — not for advertising. You control what is visible on your public profile at all times. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

Khojo allows you to discover and book verified local experiences — homestays, guided treks, community activities — directly through the platform. All listed businesses are manually verified for quality and authenticity. We do not list big hotel chains or OTA-affiliated businesses.

Payments are processed securely through standard Indian payment methods including UPI, debit/credit cards, and net banking. For squad trips, Khojo's expense-splitting feature automatically calculates and tracks each member's share in real time.

Cancellation policies vary by the individual business or experience provider, and are clearly shown on each listing before you book. The standard default policy for most experiences is:

— Full refund if cancelled 7+ days before the trip start date
— 50% refund if cancelled 3–7 days before
— No refund for cancellations within 48 hours of trip start

Some experiences may have different policies — always check the listing. Khojo's platform fee (if applicable) is fully refundable if you cancel at least 7 days in advance.

The Khojo Wallet is your in-app travel credits account. You earn credits through: completing your traveler profile (first-time bonus), referring friends, completing travel challenges, receiving positive squad ratings, and making Responsible Travel choices (local stays, reducing waste, supporting small businesses).

Credits can be redeemed against bookings made through Khojo and do not expire as long as your account is active. The reward system is designed to incentivize genuine travel behavior — Khojo rewards you for actually exploring and being a great travel companion.

Yes. Khojo's partner program is designed for small, authentic local businesses — homestays, certified guides, community-based experiences, and local activity providers. We specifically do not list big chains.

To become a partner, apply through our Partner Portal, submit verification documents, and go through a quality review. Once approved, you can list your experience and connect directly with matched travelers. There is no upfront listing fee — Khojo earns a small commission only on confirmed bookings.

The Responsible Travel Initiative is Khojo's core sustainability framework. RTI is built around four pillars: Environmental Responsibility (low-impact travel, eco-certified stays), Local Economic Empowerment (booking directly with small local businesses), Cultural Preservation (respecting local customs and sacred sites), and Community-Led Discovery (exploring lesser-known destinations to reduce overtourism).

Travelers earn an Eco-Conduct Score based on RTI-aligned choices. High scorers earn Green Traveller status, which unlocks priority access to special experiences and better squad matching. Learn more about the RTI movement.
